Photo Tutorial for The Yvonne*
  Hinged-lid Box Project

Items needed for assembly:

  • You may want to see the Ann’s Tool Box tutorial found on the Paper Minis website Tutorial page http://www.paperminis.com/level1-tutorials.htm

  • X-acto knife and fresh blade, small detailing scissors and tweezers

  • Metal straight-edge ruler. Press against the paper fold line for a nice, even and clean crease.

  • Small artist's paintbrush for gluing, small piece of aluminum foil to use as glue pot, and a fast-grab, quick-dry craft glue. White craft glue takes too long to dry and is messy.

  • A good cutting surface such as a self-heal cutting pad. You get a much better cut than with cardboard and your blade will last so much longer.

*Painting by French Painter William Adolphe Bouguereau, titled Yvonne done in 1896.

1. Cut out pieces and fold as shown. Remember to fold against a metal straight-edge in order to get the best creases.

2. Glue the two corner tabs to the blank surface of the lid.

3. Glue the 4 corner tabs to the blank surface of the box body.

4. Splay outward the 3 lining panels found on the lid and slather with a thin coat of glue using the artist's paint brush. Fold lining panels back inward and make a nice flat bond against the lid sides. Use a pair of tweezers to press bond along crease.
