|
Cut out pencil, crayon, or cigar piece. |

|
Use a pin, needle
or blade tool to
press a crease along large end as shown in
illustration. This helps in the rolling process.
Don't roll pin or needle into pencil, for you
won't be able to remove it.
Note: See end
of this tutorial for specific instruction for
cigar. |

|
Reinforce
the first crease. You may want to fold one more
time before you start rolling the pencil piece. |

|
Roll
pencil as tightly as possible. Start over if the
roll isn't straight and tight.
|

|
spread
a very thin layer of glue to length of end.
|

|
Hold
the seam until glue is thoroughly dry. Use a paper
clip to hold it if you prefer.
A nice touch is to
take a short
length of mechanical pencil lead, dab a little glue on one end, and
poke it up the shaft of the pencil.
You can use colored
felt tip pens to camouflage the white paper that may
be found at both ends, or, you can use craft paint
to add realism as shown in the following photos. |

Winding cigars is the same
principle, however, roll from the wide end as tightly as possible so
that both ends taper to the same degree.
Glue end of cigar and hold until
dry. If white ends show, use a brown felt tip pen or brown paint to
touch-up the ends. |
