1. This tutorial
directs how to make two different types of faux
blank book pages specifically for the Paper Minis
vintage seed catalog covers. Cut out the catalog
cover and fold spine against the metal straight
edge.
Type 1 tutorial
2. If you are making
wood pages, use double-sided tape to tape down the
pattern against the wood and cut shape with an X-acto
knife.
Paint
the exposed 3 sided of the wood white or off-white
to look like book paper.
Type 2 Tutorial
3. If you are making
the paper version of faux pages, cut a long strip of
paper that is slightly taller than your book page
pattern. Fan fold the strip so the panel is slightly
wider than you book page pattern. Check for proper
thickness by pressing the fan-folded paper into the
catalog cover.
4. Place a dot of glue
to the center of each paper panel. You may take a
paint brush and evenly distribute the glue to the
center of each page.
5. Press fan-folded
paper and pin tightly with a binder clip or two.
Allow to dry thoroughly.
6. Place pattern in
center of fan-folded pages, hold tightly with one
hand and carefully cut around pattern perimeter with
the X-acto knife. You may prefer to attach the
pattern with double-sided tape. Some strength and
multiple cuts are required for this step.
