1. Cut out the
three long page strips. Fan fold all page strips
taking care that the raw edges line up perfectly.
2. Use the
glue stick and carefully add a layer of glue to the
back side of the first strip. Make sure to reach the
edges of the strip. DO NOT PAINT GLUE TO BACKS OF THE
‘END PAPERS’ that are located at each end of a
strip. This is the only step that requires the use
of the glue stick.
3. One-by-one,
press the blank sides of the pages together. Be
careful to align the raw edges of the pages as
perfectly as possible.
4. Move now to the book's cover
and fold the four perimeter tabs. Try to crease the
folds exactly along the fold lines. Use the metal
straight-edge ruler to press a clean straight
crease. Paint glue to the tabs and press down.
5. Use the straight-edge ruler
and press creases along both edges of the spine area
along the guidelines found on the printed side of
the cover.
6. Paint glue to the blank side
of the front marbleized end paper and carefully glue
to the inside front cover.
7. Paint glue to the blank side
of the back marbleized end paper and carefully glue
to the inside back cover.
8. To construct the collection
box, fold as shown in the photo.
9. Glue the tan tabs found at
the top and bottom of the box front to the blank
inner surface of the box top and bottom. Repeat
gluing the tan tabs found at the top and bottom of
the box back.
10. Complete the storage box by
gluing the 4 tabs found along the perimeter of the
box opening. Allow the box to dry completely before
sliding books into opening. Otherwise the
books will catch on moist areas and the color will
be removed from books’ edges!
11. Repeat the steps for all
three books, then cover with dust jackets. Slide the
books into their box, and the project is complete!
