stick
Small piece of

Small and
medium-flat
artist's paint brushes to apply glue
1.
Cut out the main book panel. Use the aid of a metal
straight-edge to fold the two prominent panels' blank
sides together. Use an artist's brush to paint a
layer of glue to the back of the small panel. Press
together and allow
to dry thoroughly.
2.
Press the panels together as shown in the photo.
Next use the straight-edge metal ruler to help you
crease on either side of each red band that
separates the page panels. Crease the two outer
panels as well--the images of audience members going
up staircases. Try not to overly bend the panels
back and forth or you will wear down the color
coating.
3.
Cut out the four main pop-up features. Make sure to
use a fresh X-acto blade and a cutting mat. Doing so
will make cutting these small pieces much easier to
manage. If you are very good, feel free to cut out
spaces between characters.
4. Use the metal
straight-edge to crease the lines under each of the
four main pop-up features.
5. Paint glue to the
tab at the bottom of the first main pop-up feature.
6. Glue tab to create
a hollow pop-up extension. Repeat on the remain
three pop-up features.
7. Cut out "fairy"
pop-up feature and its pink extension. Create a
hollow cube of the pink extension and glue tab in
place.
8. Glue the cubed pink
extension to the blank side of the "fairy" pop-up
feature.
9. Glue the Clown with
hoop pop-up feature on panel #1. Then glue the
"fairy" pop-up feature in place on panel #1.
10.
Glue the double clown and donkey pop-up feature in
place on panel #2.
11.
Glue the two horses onto panel #3.
12.
Glue the man and woman horseback riders onto panel
#4.
13. To fold up book,
flatten pop-up features upward as shown. Next, fold
the panels as shown until compact and flat
14. Cut out the
slip-on box cover and fold as shown. Paint glue to
the red side tab. Press to bond tab to the inside
blank surface of the respective side. Allow to dry
thoroughly before putting the pop-up book in its
case.
