3 small black
office clip
Fast-grab,
quick-dry white craft glue that dries clear as well as a glue
stick
Small piece of
aluminum foil to use as a glue pot
Slender
artist's paint brush to apply glue
1.
Cut out the three long page strips. Fan fold all
page strips taking care that the raw edges line up
perfectly.
2.
Use the glue stick and carefully add a layer of glue
to the back side of the first strip. Make sure to
reach the edges of the strip.
3.
One-by-one, press the blank sides of the pages
together. Be careful to align the raw edges of the
pages as perfectly as possible.
Repeat the last couple of steps to the second and
third page strips.
4.
The slide box is easy to assemble. Complete the four
folds and then glue the tab to the inside blank
surface of the slide box as shown. Allow glue to
thoroughly dry.
5.
Stack the three-part fan-folded pages in order and
carefully line up the stack's perimeter edges. Pinch
pages with the black office clip leaving the spine
side exposed. To prevent the clip from denting the
book's pages, sandwich a lightweight piece of
cardboard between the clip and the book. Use the
artist's brush to paint a thick even coat of glue to
the length of the pages. Set aside to dry
thoroughly.
6.
Move now to the book's cover and fold the four
perimeter tabs. Try to crease the folds exactly
along the fold lines. Use the metal straight-edge
ruler to press a clean straight crease. Paint glue
to the tabs and press down.
7.
Use the straight-edge ruler and press creases along
both edges of the spine area along the guidelines
found on the printed side of the cover.
8. Now cut out the
book's end boards and glue in place as shown in the
photo.
9. Return to the stack
of pages. Remove the black office clip, and paint
another layer of glue along the spine area. Press
the stack of pages carefully in place onto the
cover's spine area. DO NOT CLOSE BOOK! Notice how
the book is propped between the keys of a keyboard.
Keep the spine in contact with the pages without
closing the book's cover. If the book cover is
closed against the pages, glue will seep on the
pages of the book.
10. Wrap dust cover at
spine, making sure that the title on dust cover is
centered to spine of the book . Tuck dust cover
flaps in place.
11. Slide the
book into its box, and the project is complete!
