1.
Cut out all pieces. DO NOT CUT FRONT AND BACK COVERS
APART!!!
2.
Paint glue to the blank side of the spine, and
carefully glue it to the cover as shown. You may
want to position it before painting glue to get the
feel of where it is suppose to be.
3.
Fold spine’s tabs to inside of cover and then glue
in place.
4.
Fold the cover’s six edge panels inward. Make sure
that the panels’ diagonal seams abut to each other –
no white space should show through.
5. Paint
glue to the backs of the six edges panels and press
bonds.
6.
Mark the center point of the ribbon. Mark a light
pencil line across the inside of the cover. Paint a
strip of glue along the line. Press ribbon (with
center mark in the middle) onto glue.
7.
Place cover inter-leaves to get feel for their
placement. Paint glue to inter-leaves and press bond
(do one at a time). Note: copyright notice goes to
back cover.
8.
Use the metal straight-edge and carefully crease on
either side of the spine’s tabs. Be sure to hold
down the edges of the spine’s length to keep it from
popping loose from its glue.
9. Take the two strips
of pages and paint glue to the tab on panels 7-12.
Glue the tab to the underside of the right end of
panels 1-6 as shown.
10.
Paint glue to the tab at the left end of panels 1-6
and bond the title page to the tab.
11.
Accordion-fold the pages using the guidelines found
between each panel. Note the short end to the left
of the title page and how it is folded. Now notice
the direction of the first fold along the right edge
of the title page. Accordion-fold from that
guideline.
12.
Generously paint the glue to the short end on the
left edge of the title page. That glue is painted to
the printed surface.
13.
Press the glue onto the inside area of the spine as
shown in this photo.
14.
Here is how the seam looks from the front.
15.
Make sure all the glue is perfectly dry, then fold
up the pages and tie the ribbon.
