Tools for Assembling Paper Mini’s Kit:

• Metal straight-edge (ruler). Make fold lines by pressing against the edge of the ruler.
• White craft glue that is a “quick grab” “clear dry” type of glue.
• Tweezers
• X-acto blade tool and fresh blade
• A true cutting mat
• cotton tipped swab
• Small artist brush with which to paint on glue
• Small piece of aluminum foil to squeeze work glue onto. This will act as your glue pot
• Scissors
• Small detailing scissors, a.k.a. as embroidery snips
• Small black office clips

Soup Carton

Cut all pieces and fold tabs found at base of soup carton. You can do so easily by placing tabs along the edge of a sharp table or kitchen counter and pressing down along the tabs' crease line. Glue the long side tab to the blank side of the cylinder's length to form a cylinder. Slather a thin coat of craft glue on the red tabs. Items shown in photos are of the 18" girl doll scale.

If you are unsure of yourself and want a practice piece first, merely trace the unit on plain paper before cutting pieces. Make a practice unit with the plain trace.
 

Some Paper Minis projects have a lip lining at the container top.  Slice at the lining cut lines, fold down lining panels and then glue into place at this point.
 

Try to make the carton as round as possible and secure the base to the red tabs. Secure the tabs against the base by pressing with the flat end of a pencil or pen. Trim off any excess base that may show.

Fold the white tabs as shown. Glue the top's side tab to form a cylinder. Slather a thin layer of craft glue on the white tabs.

Place the lid's top onto glued tabs.

Use the flat end of a pen or pencil to secure lid's tabs. Trim any excess top that may overlap the lid's cylinder.

Cut out carton, then poke holes for wire handle. Cut the slit for the closure flap. Items shown in photos are of the 18" girl doll scale.

Note: Dec. 2005, when assembling the 1:12 scale food carton, you may prefer to just glue the sides and handle into place rather than trying to thread the wire through the holes. It is possible to thread the wire on the small scale model, but not rewarding.

Fold at all the crease lines to form the initial carton shape.

Cut the wire piece according to instructions found with the Paper Mini™. Poke wire through the two holes found on side of carton. Twist end to secure.

Poke wire end through two holes found on other side of carton. Make sure that the handle is tall enough to allow flaps to pass through with ease. Twist end to secure. Clip off any excess wire.

For the larger scale cartons, you may want to glue side flaps to the body of the carton. This will ensure that the body of the carton won't collapse into itself.
