1" Dollhouse Scale (1:12) Paper Minis™ |
|
|
Each miniature Paper Minis™ is individually printed to achieve an
unparalleled level of color and print quality on the finest
papers. The miniature detail is so defined the signature thimble is placed in each photo as proof
of scale.
None of the pre-printed Paper Minis products needs to be
sealed or sprayed. For your information the printed surfaces
have been tested under running water and allowed to air dry.
The print surface is colorfast and does not run. This is
important to know if you want to "antique" your Paper Mini.
However, be careful to not unnecessarily saturate, which
will cause a slight ripple in the paper surface.
Most designs are very easy to
assemble. Nevertheless, you may visit the on-line library of tutorials and many photo
tutorials. Note: sizes of
miniatures are given in millimeters for accuracy. For your
information 1"=25.4 mm

colorful pop-up book Cginal human scale book. Many adjustments were

Ballad of the Lost
Hare
(1:12)
by Margaret Sidney
Published/Created: Boston, D. Lothrop (circa 1882)
Size: 35mm x 25mm (cover), 32mm x 22mm (page)
Number of Pieces: Laminated cover, 2 end
boards, 24 full-color pages, 1 dust jacket and
laminated box sleeve
Description: This is a reproduction mini book
version of a darling 125 year old children's book,
replete with all the original illustrations. Much
time was spent bringing life back to the aged and
damaged pages. Gone are the faded colors, stains,
rips, nicks, and overall discoloring so you can
enjoy this treasure of a book as it was when first
published. I wanted to stay true to the original
full-sized antique edition--right down to the deep
brown colored text executed in a retro-style
Garamond font. That meant it was truly a challenge to re-typeset, for the original
typesetter was incredibly creative with the text layout,
i.e., stair-stepped and design placement on the
pages. See the tutorial

designed to be.

bc1is005 ~ Railroad
Story Book (1:12)
McLoughlin Bros. Publishing
circa 1907 (Extracts also taken from the 1898
McLoughin book titled Railroad ABC Picture Book)
Size:
27mm x 20mm (cover), 25mm x 19mm (text
page)
Number of Pieces: 2 covers (1 alternate), 2
end boards, 1 dust jacket, 16 full-color pages.
Description:
True to all the McLoughlin Brothers’ children’s
books, this one is beautifully illustrated. There is
something about their books that has that “warm fuzzies” appeal, and this one is no exception. It
would be wonderful to give the author and artist
credit, but–as with most of the McLoughlin Brothers’
publications–the creative collaborators remain
anonymous.
This miniature
rendition has been newly typeset using an
appropriate font face titled Goudy Old Style, and
the text layout is almost identical to the original
full-sized book. The illustrations have been
scrubbed, enhanced and color re-saturated to it’s
original beauty. The text and illustrations have
been laid out on a faux aged patina to give it the
rich and warm look of an antique. The back cover and
title page were rendered using illustrations from an
older McLoughlin Brothers' book titled The Railroad
ABC Picture Book (circa 1898), so some artistic
license was taken to enhance the original volume.
